Translating File Path
MSDN Forums: Windows Live Writer: Development - Hopefully somebody can help me out with this.

I'm writing a plugin to upload and embed a mp3 to my blog.  As reference I've used the source to the file upload plugin by "scottisafool" as this is the first time I've every written a plugin.

Basically I am taking the locally selected file and wrapping some html code around it to embed the mp3 into a flash player.

I have it all working where it inserts the code however I am having a problem.

I noticed that when you have something like if you click on preview it will translate your local path and file to something that looks like "$[afilename]" and then when you post it will upload the file and fix thelink properly.

However the code I am using looks something like "audioUrl=[yourlocalpathandfile" and it doesn't translate it the same as above.  So when I post the entry the path is off and the entry doesn't work.

Is there any way around this or anyway to get the online path to the file so i can insert that instead?

Hopefully this makes sense.

Eventually I want to allow the user to wrap any file they upload with any type of embedding code so they could post thinks like mp3's in an embedded player easily.

Thanks.

Web Service Access not Enabled
MSDN Forums: Windows Live Writer: Development - I am trying to get Windows LIve Writer to access my Subtext ASP.NET blog.  I've gotten this to work just fine on a Windows XP Pro machine but on this Windows XP Home OS, it's complaining.  This is the exact same setup as I have on my Widows Pro machine.

Since Windows XP Home has no IIS (which yes, sucks really really bad), I am not sure if Windows Live Writer will be able to connect to my localhost blog.  On myWindows XP Pro machine, I simply added my VS 2005 localhost URL then the username and password and it worked just fine.  Example: http://localhost:2732/default.aspx

So I guess my question is why I'm getting this web service issue, is it becasue of an ASP.NET setting, an IIS setting, or what on this XP Home machine?  With no IIS I'm kinda walking in the dark here with Windows Live Writer.
