Preliminary requirements
Windows Live ID:
In order to use Silverlight Streaming, you must first have a Windows Live ID as you will have to sign-in to get provisioned for your free (*) Silverlight Streaming account. If you do not already have a Windows Live ID you can create it on http://login.live.com/.

Creating and Managing your Silverlight Streaming account
- Account provisioning:
In order to use the Silverlight Streaming service you need to request a free (*) Silverlight Streaming account. To create a Silverlight Streaming account now, go to the Silverlight Streaming Administration site and click on the Get it free button. You must be signed in with your Windows Live ID to proceed further.
Provisioning this account will map your Windows Live ID to a Silverlight Streaming ID and an authorization key that identify you as the unique owner of the Silverlight applications and associated media files uploaded to the server using this account. You will be the only person authorized to manage those files on the server, and you will control the end-to-end experience on your web site whenever those files are played back using Silverlight.
You will need both the Silverlight Streaming ID and authorization key to publish your Silverlight application files to the Silverlight Streaming server.
- Retrieving account credentials:
If you already have a Silverlight Streaming account, you can retrieve the account credentials information from the server, at any time.
Just go to the Manage Accounts page on the Silverlight Streaming Administration site.
- Regenerating account key:
If you already have a free Silverlight Streaming account, you can regenerate the account key (aka account secret) on the server, at any time.
Just go to the Manage Accounts page on the Silverlight Streaming Administration site and click on the Regenerate Account Key button.
